Getting There

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the City Bus number 50 bound for "Ryoan-ji". The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Ryoan-ji' bus stop. Once you exit the bus, walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the entrance of Ryoanji Butsuden (Buddha Hall).

  • Train and Walk

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sanin Line to Uzumasa-Tenjingawa Station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Uzumasa-Tenjingawa Station, exit and walk north for about 15-20 minutes until you reach Ryoanji Butsuden. Follow the signs to Ryoan-ji Temple.
