Getting There

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Look for the buses bound for 'Ninna-ji'. You can take either the 'Nanzenji Eikando' or 'Kinkakuji' routes. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Ninna-ji' stop. Once you disembark, you will see the entrance to Ninna-ji right in front of you.

  • Subway

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line (green line) towards Kokusaikaikan. Transfer at Karasuma Oike Station to the Tozai Line (light blue line) and head towards Uzumasa Tenjingawa. Get off at the 'Higashiyama' Station. From there, you can take bus number 26 towards 'Kinkakuji' and get off at 'Ninna-ji' stop. The total travel time will be about 40-50 minutes.

    If you are near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, you can take a pleasant walk to Ninna-ji. From the Kyoto Imperial Palace, head west through the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden towards the main road.
