Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Kyoto Line (also known as the JR Tōkaidō Main Line) towards Osaka. Ride for about 25 minutes and get off at Nagaokakyo Station. Once you arrive at Nagaokakyo Station, exit the station and head west on the main road (Route 171). Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes, and you will see the Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine on your right.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the city bus number 28 towards 'Nagaoka Tenmangu'. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the 'Nagaoka Tenmangu' bus stop, the shrine will be just a short walk away. Head east from the bus stop for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the shrine entrance.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Kyoto Station. Head west from Kyoto Station and follow the cycle paths along the river. Continue cycling along the river for about 10 kilometers until you reach Nagaokakyo. The shrine is located a short distance from the center of Nagaokakyo, and you can easily find your way to the shrine once you are in the area.
