Walking
From the Karasuma side (north exit) , exit the station and walk towards Kyoto Tower, which is directly in front of the station. The station spans a considerable distance, so walking from one end to the other internally can take 10-15 minutes. Use the underground passage on the east side to connect to the Hachijo side (south exit).

Public Transport
Kyoto Station is a central hub for various public transportation options. The Karasuma Subway Line has entry points throughout the station. Subway fares range from ¥220 to ¥360 depending on the distance. City buses depart from the Karasuma side, providing access to various attractions. A one-day subway and bus pass costs ¥1,100.

Taxi
Taxi stands are available on both the Karasuma and Hachijo sides of the station. Most taxis accommodate four passengers. The initial fare is ¥490 for the first 1.5km, with an additional ¥320 per kilometer. A 5km ride in Kyoto costs approximately ¥2090. Note that fares increase by 20% between 10 PM and 5 AM.

Parking
Parking is available at Kyoto Station, primarily on the Karasuma side. The Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit Parking Lot is located in the basement of the Kyoto Avanti Shopping Center. Parking fees at the station tend to be higher compared to other locations in the city. There are also bicycle parking facilities available.
