From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 100 or 206. Both buses will take you to the Gion area. Get off at the stop called 'Gion' or 'Yasaka Jinja'. From the bus stop, walk about 5 minutes to reach Yasaka Shrine. Head east on Shijo-dori Street, then turn right onto Gionmachi Kitagawa Street and follow the signs leading to the shrine.

From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to Shijo Station. Transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line and get off at Kawaramachi Station. From Kawaramachi Station, walk east along Shijo-dori Street for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Gionmachi Kitagawa Street. Turn left onto Gionmachi Kitagawa Street and continue walking until you arrive at Yasaka Shrine.
