Wonderfully large shrines next to cute little shops
Wonderfully large shrines, temples, along side cute little shops. Kyoto was a lot more spread out than we realized. Glad we had a guide to lead and even grabbed us taxis easily when we needed one. Be prepared for walking from area to area, and unless you are a strong walker, I would recommend getting a taxi for a couple of the areas to get to the next.

Kyoto's Best Gems - Private Shore Excursion from Kobe Port
Many charming traditional ares. The rain and too many umbrellas made it a 4-star.
We have been to Japan before, but never have been to Kyoto. Definitely more traditional than Tokyo and Osaka, and much larger than the small towns near Mt Fuji. It was raining all day, so although the trees and walk paths were beautiful from the rain shimmer, the umbrellas everyone was carrying took away from being able to see the charm of the smaller stores and pathways. Try to go on a non-rainy day if you can because I think it makes a difference on the experience when in the more popular areas. Our guide was great, personable, and answered all of our questions.

Very informative guide! Patient as well, given we were a bit late. Dusk vibes were nice, different experience from the usual day tours.
