    If you're traveling by car, start by getting onto the Kyushu Expressway (E3) from your current location. Follow the signs toward Kumamoto. Once you reach Kumamoto, take the exit for Route 57, heading toward Aso. Continue on Route 57 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach Aso City. Follow the signs for Mount Aso, which will direct you to Takawara. The drive should take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. There is parking available near the base of the mountain.

    To reach Mount Aso by public transportation, start by taking a train to Kumamoto Station, which is accessible from various cities in Kyushu. From Kumamoto Station, transfer to the JR Hohi Line and take a train towards Aso Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aso Station, you can take a local bus (Aso City Community Bus) that heads towards Takawara. Make sure to check the bus schedule as services may vary. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes, dropping you off near the entrance to Mount Aso.
