Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Fukuoka City. Take the Kyushu Expressway towards Nagasaki. After approximately 1.5 hours, take the exit for Saga Prefectural Route 38 towards Tara. Follow the signs for Tara Undersea Road. The entire trip should take about 2 hours, depending on traffic. Be aware that there may be tolls on the expressway, which can cost around ¥1,200 to ¥2,000.
Train and Bus
For public transportation, start by taking the train from Hakata Station in Fukuoka to Saga Station. This journey takes about 40 minutes. From Saga Station, transfer to the local bus bound for Tara. The bus ride will take approximately 50 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited. The total travel time from Fukuoka to Tara by public transport is around 1.5 to 2 hours, including waiting times. The train fare is approximately ¥1,500, and the bus fare is around ¥700.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Saga Station to Tara Undersea Road. This will be more expensive, costing around ¥5,000 to ¥6,000 and taking about 30 minutes. It's a convenient option for those traveling with luggage or in a group.
