  • Public Transport

    From Takayama Station, take the Nohi Bus bound for Shinhotaka Ropeway. The journey takes approximately 90 minutes and costs around 2200 yen one way. The bus stops directly at the Shinhotaka Ropeway bus stop, a short walk from the Visitor Center. Consider purchasing a Takayama & Shin-Hotaka Two-Day Open Ticket for 4,400 yen for unlimited travel on buses between JR Takayama Station and Shin-Hotaka Onsen.

  • Car

    From Takayama, follow Route 158 towards Okuhida Onsen. The drive to Shinhotaka Ropeway takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Paid parking is available near the ropeway. Parking costs 600 yen for 6 hours for cars. Be aware that roads can be icy during winter.
