Car
From Owari, take the Route 1 highway heading north towards Nagoya. Continue for approximately 40 km until you reach the junction for the Chuo Expressway. Merge onto the Chuo Expressway and drive for about 120 km. Take the exit for the Kanetsu Expressway towards Niigata. Continue on the Kanetsu Expressway for another 40 km. Take Exit 2 towards Tokamachi and follow the signs to Kiyotsu Gorge. The gorge is approximately 30 minutes from the exit. Note that parking is available at the gorge, and there may be a small parking fee.
Public Transportation
From Owari Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Nagoya Station. Transfer to the JR Chuo Line and take a train heading towards Takamatsu. At Nagano Station, transfer to the Joetsu Line and take a train to Tokamachi Station. The total travel time is approximately 3.5 hours. From Tokamachi Station, take a local bus (Kiyotsu Line) directly to Kiyotsu Gorge. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes, and tickets can be purchased at the station. Be sure to check the bus schedule as services may be limited.
