Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Kochi City and take Route 32 north towards Takaoka District. Continue on Route 32 for about 35 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Route 56. Turn left onto Route 56 and follow the signs towards Hidaka. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will arrive in the area of Okina. Look for signs directing you to Saruda Cave, which is located at 1591 Okina, Hidaka, Takaoka District, Kochi 781-2152. There is usually parking available near the entrance.

    To reach Saruda Cave using public transportation, first take a train from Kochi Station to Nakamura Station (approximately 40 minutes). From Nakamura Station, you can catch a local bus heading towards Hidaka. Ensure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they may not run frequently. The bus will take you closer to Okina, where Saruda Cave is located. Get off at the nearest stop to Saruda Cave and walk approximately 15 minutes to the site.
