If you're driving from Morioka, take the Tohoku Expressway and get off at the Kanegasaki IC. From there, follow Route 4 towards the coast. Be aware of toll fees along the expressway, which can be around ¥1,000 to ¥2,000 depending on your route.

Public Transportation - Train and Bus
From Morioka Station, take the Iwate Galaxy Railway to Shimohei. This train ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Shimohei Station, catch the bus heading to Tanohata. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. You will need to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, especially during off-peak seasons. The bus fare is usually around ¥500 to ¥700.
