Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, take the Chuo Expressway from any point in Yamanashi. Use the Koshu IC exit and follow the signs for Route 20 towards Katsunuma. Continue straight for approximately 10 minutes until you see the signs for Chateau Mercian Wine Museum on your right. The museum is located at 1106-1 Katsunumacho Shimoiwasaki, Koshu. There is a parking lot available, but it can be crowded during weekends and holidays.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    To reach Chateau Mercian by train, take the JR Chuo Line from either Kofu or Otsuki station. Disembark at Katsunuma Station. From Katsunuma Station, you can take a taxi, which will cost around 1,200 yen and take about 10 minutes to reach the museum. Alternatively, you can walk, which will take approximately 30 minutes. Head south on Route 20, then turn left onto the road leading to the museum.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Kofu Station, you can catch a local bus bound for Katsunuma. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around 500 yen. Get off at the Katsunuma Wine Village stop. From there, the Chateau Mercian Wine Museum is about a 15-minute walk. Head east on Route 20, then turn right onto Katsunumacho Shimoiwasaki Road until you reach the museum.
