Getting There

Walking
From the Visitor Center in Petra, head towards the main entrance of the archaeological site. Once you pass through the entrance gate, take a left towards the Siq, the narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury. Walk through the Siq, which is about 1.2 kilometers long and will take approximately 20-30 minutes to traverse. As you exit the Siq, you will see the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) in front of you. Continue straight past the Treasury and keep walking along the main path for about 500 meters until you reach the Street of Facades. Here, look for the steps leading up on your left side. Ascend these steps to reach the area where the Royal Tombs are located. The Palace Tomb is one of these impressive structures, and it will be directly in front of you as you reach the top.

Alternatively, if you are starting from the Petra Archaeological Park, follow the main path towards the Theatre. After visiting the Theatre, continue along the path towards the Royal Tombs area. As you approach the Royal Tombs, keep an eye out for the Palace Tomb, which is one of the most prominent tombs in the area. It is marked by an impressive facade that stands out amongst the other tombs.

If you are coming from the Monastery (Ad-Deir), it is a bit of a trek back. Head down from the Monastery, following the signs towards the main trail. Once you reach the main path, turn left and continue walking down until you get to the Street of Facades. Look for the steps on your right side that lead up to the Royal Tombs. The Palace Tomb will be among them, and you will easily recognize it by its grand structure.
