Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Wadi Musa, start by heading towards the main road, which is the Petra Entrance Road. Look for signs directing you to Petra Archaeological Park. Follow the road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance to the park. There will be a large sign marking the entrance, and you will see ticket booths where you can purchase your entry ticket.

Once you have your ticket, enter through the gates. You will immediately see a path leading into the Siq, the narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury. Walk along the path, and enjoy the stunning scenery as you make your way through the Siq for about 1.2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the carved rock faces and ancient water channels along the way.

After exiting the Siq, you will arrive at the iconic Treasury (Al-Khazneh). Take some time to admire this breathtaking structure. From here, you can choose to explore various trails leading to other significant sites within the park, such as the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and the Theater.

To reach the Roman Theater, continue walking straight from the Treasury for about 5-10 minutes until you see the large stone structure on your left. If you wish to see the Monastery (Ad-Deir), you will need to take a longer hike. From the Roman Theater, follow the signs to the Monastery, which is about a 45-minute walk uphill. The path is well-marked, and you will encounter numerous steps, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
