Walking
From the Visitor Center at Petra Archaeological Park, head towards the main entrance. Once you exit, continue on the main path that leads into the park. You’ll pass the Obelisk Tomb on your left. Continue walking for approximately 20 minutes, which will take you to the entrance of the Royal Tombs area. Look for the large rock formations and the tombs that are carved into the cliffs on your right.

If you are starting from the Treasury (Al-Khazneh), walk towards the Siq, then take a right at the first junction to continue on the path. Follow the signs for the Royal Tombs which will guide you through the main thoroughfare. It should take around 15-20 minutes to reach the Royal Tombs from this point, and you will see the magnificent facades of the tombs as you approach.

For a more leisurely approach, you can hire a horse from the Petra stables near the entrance of the park. The horse ride will take you through some of the scenic paths leading towards the Royal Tombs. Ensure you negotiate the price beforehand.
