If you are in downtown Lawrence, head east on Massachusetts Street until you reach 7th Street. Turn left (north) on 7th Street and continue until you reach the intersection with New Hampshire Street. Turn right (east) on New Hampshire Street and walk straight until you reach the intersection with 9th Street. Here, turn left (north) and walk until you reach the intersection with Kentucky Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 11th Street. At this point, you will see the Lawrence Public Library on your right, which is a good landmark. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with 15th Street. Turn right (east) and walk until you reach the intersection with Louisiana Street. Nathaniel Hawthorne's Birthplace is located at 27 Hardy St, which is on your left once you reach that intersection.
