Car
From the main entrance of Altyn Emel National Park, head southeast on the main road. Follow the signs towards the Karabulak gorge. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the intersection of FFRG+R3. Turn left at this intersection. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the Karabulak (Shoqan camp) gorge. Make sure to keep an eye out for any park signage that might indicate specific turns towards the gorge.

Public Transportation
Start from the nearest city, which is Almaty. Take a bus or shared taxi to the town of Kegen. From Kegen, you can hire a local taxi or arrange a ride with fellow travelers to reach Altyn Emel National Park. Once inside the park, follow the route described for car travelers. If you have arranged a guide, they may provide transportation directly to Karabulak (Shoqan camp) gorge.

If you are already in the vicinity of the gorge and prefer to hike, you can start from the nearest campsite or parking area within Altyn Emel National Park. Take the marked trails leading towards Karabulak gorge. Ensure you have a physical map or GPS device, as the trails can be less visible in certain areas. The hike should take approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace.
