Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, head towards the Kolsai Lakes National Park. From the main road (A351), take the exit towards 'Kolsai Lakes'. Continue on the road for about 40 kilometers, following the signs to the park entrance. There is a parking area available at the entrance where you can leave your vehicle. Please note that there is a park entry fee of approximately 500 KZT per person.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Almaty to Saty village. Buses leave from the Sayakhat Bus Station in Almaty. The journey takes around 4-5 hours. Once you arrive in Saty, you can either walk (approximately 15 km) or hire a local taxi to take you to the Kolsai Lakes entrance. The taxi fare should be negotiated beforehand and typically costs around 1000-2000 KZT.

  • Hiking

    After reaching the park entrance, you can hike to the first lake, Kolsai 1. The trail is well-marked and takes about 30-40 minutes of walking. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring enough water. If you plan to visit Kolsai 2, it is a more challenging hike that takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Kolsai 1.
