After paying the entrance fee (approximately 500 KZT), drive for another 15 km to reach the parking area at the base of the hiking trail leading to Lower Kolsai Lake.

For those using public transport, take a minibus (marshrutka) from Almaty to the village of Saty. Buses leave from the Sayakhat Bus Station in Almaty and the journey typically takes around 5-6 hours, costing about 1500 KZT. Upon arriving in Saty, you can either hire a taxi or arrange for a ride to the Kolsai Lakes National Park entrance. Once there, pay the entrance fee (around 500 KZT) and then walk or take a local taxi to the starting point of the trail leading to Lower Kolsai Lake.
