If you're traveling by car, start from Almaty city center. Drive towards the Medeu District along the Almaty Ring Road (A2). Look for signs directing you to the Ile-Alatau National Park. Once you reach the park entrance, pay the entrance fee, which is approximately 500 KZT per person. After entering, follow the main road towards the Medeu Skating Rink. Continue past the rink until you reach the road leading to Kimasar Pass. This part of the road can be unpaved, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain. Follow the signs to Kimasar Pass, and after approximately 15-20 minutes, you will arrive at the pass. The drive offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

To reach Kimasar Pass using public transport, take a bus or minivan (marshrutka) from Almaty to the Medeu District. You can catch these from the main bus station (Sayakhat) or designated stops in the city. The fare is around 200-300 KZT.
