Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Заброшенная штольня/Пещера, start from the main entrance of Kolsai Lakes National Park, located at the visitor center. Head east on the A-351 road. Follow the signs towards the Kolsai Lakes. After approximately 15 kilometers, turn onto the road that leads to Kurmeti. Continue driving for about 5 kilometers until you reach the coordinates 282Q+42, Kurmeti. There is a small parking area near the entrance to the cave.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Заброшенная штольня/Пещера using public transportation, first take a bus or marshrutka (minibus) from Almaty to Saty village. The bus ride typically takes around 4-5 hours and costs approximately 2000 KZT. Upon arrival in Saty, you can take a taxi or arrange for a local guide to take you the remaining 15 kilometers to the cave entrance at 282Q+42 in Kurmeti. Expect to pay around 1500-3000 KZT for the taxi ride, depending on negotiation.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are already within Kolsai Lakes National Park, you can hike to Заброшенная штольня/Пещера. From the main trails of Kolsai Lakes, trek towards the Kurmeti area, which is approximately a 3-4 hour hike depending on your pace. The trail is moderately challenging, so be sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring enough water and snacks for the journey. Follow the markers leading to the cave's coordinates 282Q+42.
