Getting There

Car
From the main entrance of Kolsai Lakes National Park, head southeast on the main road towards the Kolsai Lakes. After approximately 10 km, watch for the sign indicating the turnoff for the Viewpoint of Wheat Valley. Turn left onto the gravel road and continue for about 5 km until you reach the parking area. From the parking area, it is a short 1 km hike to the viewpoint. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.

Public Transportation
Take a minibus (marshrutka) from Almaty to the town of Saty. This should take around 3 hours. Once in Saty, you can hire a local taxi or find a shared taxi to take you to the Kolsai Lakes National Park entrance. From there, follow the same route as the car section: continue towards Kolsai Lakes, turn off for the Viewpoint of Wheat Valley, and either hike from the parking area or arrange with your taxi driver for them to wait for you at the viewpoint.

If you're already in the Kolsai Lakes area, you can hike to the Viewpoint of Wheat Valley directly. Starting from the main Kolsai Lakes trailhead, follow the marked trails for about 2 hours. The hike is moderately challenging, so bring plenty of water and snacks. The trails are scenic, offering stunning views as you ascend towards the viewpoint.
