    If you are driving from Kisumu, head northwest on the A1 road towards Kakamega. Continue on this road for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach Kakamega town. From Kakamega town, follow signs to Kakamega Forest, which is located about 10 kilometers from the town center. The road will take you through Isukha Central area. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some roads may be rough. Parking is available at the entrance of the forest.

  • Public Transportation (Matatu)

    From Kisumu, board a matatu (shared taxi) heading to Kakamega. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around 200-300 KES. Upon arrival in Kakamega town, transfer to another matatu heading towards the forest (ask for one going to Isukha Central). The fare for this second leg is approximately 50 KES, and it will take about 20 minutes. Get off at the Kakamega Forest entrance.

  • Public Transportation (Bicycle hire)

    For a more adventurous route, you can rent a bicycle in Kakamega town. After taking a matatu from Kisumu to Kakamega, you can find bicycle rental shops near the town center.
