If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Suna town. Head east on the Suna-Migori Road (A1) for about 7 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to the Lake Victoria Sanctuary. You will need to turn left onto Migori - Muhuru Road and continue for approximately 3 kilometers. The sanctuary will be on your right at the address 34HP+RR9, Migori - Muhuru Rd. Be cautious of the local traffic and road conditions.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from Suna town heading towards Muhuru Bay. Board at the matatu stage near the market. The fare is usually around 100-200 KES (Kenyan Shillings) depending on the distance. Inform the driver or conductor that you are going to Lake Victoria Sanctuary, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. From there, it is approximately a 15-minute walk to the sanctuary. Follow the main road until you see signs for the sanctuary.
Bicycle
If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle in Suna. Head east on the Suna-Migori Road (A1) for about 7 kilometers, then turn left onto Migori - Muhuru Road. The sanctuary is approximately 3 kilometers ahead on your right. Be prepared for local traffic and possibly uneven road conditions.
Walking
For the more adventurous travelers, if you are already in the vicinity of the sanctuary, you can walk from Suna town. Starting from the main market area, head east on the Suna-Migori Road for about 7 kilometers, then turn left onto Migori - Muhuru Road and continue for 3 kilometers. This journey will take you approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace, so plan accordingly and bring water.
