The ferry operates regularly, but it's advisable to check the schedule in advance. The ferry ride takes about 10-15 minutes, and tickets usually cost around 100 KES (Kenyan Shillings) per person. Once you arrive at Rusinga Island, follow the main road to reach various attractions on the island.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared minibus) from Kisumu to Mbita. The journey takes about 1-2 hours and costs approximately 200-300 KES. Upon reaching Mbita, you can either take a bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) or walk to the Mbita ferry terminal. Once at the terminal, purchase your ferry ticket, which costs around 100 KES per person. After crossing to Rusinga Island, you can hire a local boda boda or walk to your desired location on the island.
