Car
If you are traveling by car from Kisumu, head southwest on the A1 highway towards Homa Bay. After approximately 45 kilometers, take the road towards Mbita. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach Mbita Town. From Mbita, take a ferry to Mfangano Island, which operates frequently throughout the day. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately 200 KES per person. Once you arrive at Mfangano Island, follow the signs to the Abasuba Community Peace Museum located in Sena Centre.
Public Transport
To reach the Abasuba Community Peace Museum using public transportation, start your journey at Kisumu Bus Station. Board a bus heading to Homa Bay. The bus ride takes about 1 to 1.5 hours and costs around 150 KES. Once you arrive in Homa Bay, take a matatu (shared taxi) to Mbita Town for about 100 KES. From Mbita, you will need to take a ferry to Mfangano Island, which costs about 200 KES and takes 30 minutes. Upon arrival on Mfangano Island, you can either walk or hire a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to get to Sena Centre where the museum is located.

If you prefer a quicker route once on Mfangano Island, consider hiring a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) from the ferry terminal to the Abasuba Community Peace Museum. The ride is short and should cost around 100-200 KES, depending on your negotiation skills and the distance.
