If you're driving from Nanyuki, head south on the Nanyuki-Nairobi Road (A2). After approximately 10 km, turn left onto the road leading to Mt. Kenya National Park. Continue on this road for about 15 km, following the signs to Mawingu Outpost. As you approach the outpost, you'll notice the entrance to the park. From Nanyuki town, board a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Mount Kenya National Park. These matatus leave regularly from designated pick-up points in the town. Inform the driver that you wish to disembark at Mawingu Outpost. The journey will take around 30-45 minutes, and you may need to pay around 100-200 KES (Kenyan Shillings) for the fare. Be prepared for a short walk from where the matatu drops you off to the Mawingu Outpost, as it may not drop you directly at the entrance.
