Car
From Mount Longonot, head southeast on the A104 road towards Naivasha. After approximately 20 km, take the exit towards the A2 road heading to Nairobi. Continue on the A2 road for about 60 km. Once in Nairobi, follow signs for Kiambu Road. After reaching the area of Muthaiga, look for signs indicating Karura Forest Reserve. The entrance to the forest is on Kiambu Road, and parking is available at the Headquarters. Note that there may be a small entrance fee charged at the gate.

Public Transportation
To use public transportation from Mount Longonot, first, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Longonot to Naivasha Town. From Naivasha, board a matatu heading to Nairobi. Once you arrive in Nairobi, you can take another matatu or taxi to the Muthaiga area. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Karura Forest Reserve on Kiambu Road. Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee upon entering the forest.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or ride-sharing service like Uber or Bolt. From Mount Longonot, simply book a ride to Karura Forest Reserve, located at Karura, Kiambu Rd, Nairobi. The driver will take you directly to the Headquarters. The cost will vary depending on traffic and time of day, but expect to pay a reasonable fare.
