If you're starting from the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), head to Kenyatta Avenue and catch a matatu (shared minibus) heading to Westlands. Ensure to get off at the Westlands bus stop. From there, walk towards the Westgate Mall, then take a right turn onto Mwanzi Road and continue straight until you reach the junction with Kiambu Road. Turn left onto Kiambu Road, and after a short walk, you will find the entrance to Karura Forest Reserve on your right.

From the Nairobi CBD, you can take a public bus (number 46) that goes to the Sarit Centre in Westlands. Once you alight at the Sarit Centre, walk towards the nearby Westgate Mall. From the mall, navigate to Mwanzi Road, take a right, and walk until you reach Kiambu Road. Turn left onto Kiambu Road, and you will soon see the entrance to Karura Forest Reserve on your right.

For those wishing to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from various rental services in the CBD. Ride towards Parklands and follow the signs to Westlands. Once you reach the Westlands area, head to Mwanzi Road and ride straight until you hit Kiambu Road. Turn left and continue cycling until you reach the entrance of Karura Forest Reserve.
