If you are in the center of Vientiane, a great starting point is the Patuxai Monument. From Patuxai, walk east along Lane Xang Avenue until you reach the Mekong River. Once you reach the riverbank, turn left and continue walking along the promenade until you reach the end of the walkway. Cross the Friendship Bridge into Thailand. After crossing, follow the signs to Nong Khai Walking Street. It will be a short walk from the bridge.

You can take a tuk-tuk from any location in Vientiane to the Friendship Bridge. Simply tell the driver 'Friendship Bridge' in Lao or show them a map. Once you arrive at the bridge, you will need to walk across to Nong Khai. After crossing, follow the signs to Nong Khai Walking Street which is located just a short distance from the bridge.

Take a local bus from the main bus station in Vientiane to the Friendship Bridge. Buses run frequently throughout the day. Once you arrive at the Friendship Bridge, you will need to get off and walk across the bridge. After crossing into Thailand, follow the signs to Nong Khai Walking Street, which is a short walk away.
