If you're starting from central Vientiane, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you directly to the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you cross the bridge into Thailand, you can catch another tuk-tuk or taxi to The Rail Market in Nong Khai, located at 99 Kaew Woravut, Mi Chai, Muang, Nong Khai.

For the adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Vientiane and cycle to the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge. The distance is about 25 kilometers and can take around 1-1.5 hours, depending on your speed. After crossing the bridge, you can continue cycling or take a tuk-tuk to the Rail Market in Nong Khai. Ensure you have your passport for the border crossing.

Walking is not advisable due to the distance and border crossing, but if you are near the Friendship Bridge, you can walk to the bridge, which is about 3 kilometers away from the nearest bus station.
