Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Leptis Magna ruins entrance, walk straight ahead on the main path for about 10 minutes. You will pass various smaller ruins on your left and right, which will give you a glimpse of the magnificent history of the area. Continue until you reach a large open space where you can see the outline of The Amphitheatre of Leptis Magna in the distance. The amphitheatre is situated to the right side of this open area. Walk towards it, and you will find the entrance marked with signs.

    From the visitor center, exit the building and turn left. Follow the main pathway that leads into the archaeological site. Keep walking straight until you reach a fork in the path. At the fork, take the right path. This will lead you through some ruins and eventually guide you towards The Amphitheatre. The amphitheatre will be clearly visible as you approach, and you will hear the echoes of history in the ambiance.

    If you are at the Arch of Septimius Severus, head south towards the main pathway. Walk straight for about 5 minutes until you come across the large open area known as the Forum. From there, you can see The Amphitheatre slightly to the east. Follow the dirt path that leads over to the amphitheatre; it should take you about 7 minutes to reach it from the Forum.
