The Alpschaukäserei Schwägalp invites you to discover the secrets of cheese-making amidst the stunning natural beauty of the Säntis massif. Located at the base of the Säntisbahn cable car, this working cheese factory was established in 1996 by farmers who bring their cows to the Alps for the summer. Today, around 50 local farmers deliver fresh Alpine milk to the factory between May and September. This milk is transformed into the renowned Schwägalp cheese and other specialties, including Raclette, Mutschli, butter, and goat cheese. Visitors can observe the cheese-making process through a large glass front, witnessing the cheesemakers at work. The factory also features a shop where you can purchase these fresh, local products.
