Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Walking
From the Lindau-Insel train station, walk west towards the harbor. Continue along the harbor promenade, passing the Mangturm lighthouse and the Lindau Lion. Turn right onto Uferweg, and the Pulverturm will be on your left, approximately a 10-15 minute walk.
Public Transport
From Lindau main train station, take a local bus towards Lindau-Insel. Several bus lines connect the mainland to the island. Get off at the Lindau, Bahnhof stop. From there, walk towards the harbor area by following the signs. Once you reach the harbor, turn right onto Uferweg. The Pulverturm is located at Uferweg 15, just a short distance along the waterfront. Bus tickets cost between €1-€3.
Parking
If driving, it's best to park in one of the Park & Ride lots on the mainland, such as P1 Blauwiese or P2 Reutiner Bahnhof, as parking on Lindau Island is limited and mostly for residents. From P1 Blauwiese, take the Lindau city bus (Line 5) to Lindau Island. A day ticket for P1 Blauwiese costs €5. From the Lindau, Bahnhof bus stop, follow the walking directions. Parking at Reutiner Bahnhof costs €1.40 per hour, or €7 per day.
