From downtown Slidell, start at the Slidell Amtrak Station located at 1000 Front St, Slidell, LA 70458. Head south on Front St toward E Howze Beach Rd. Continue straight onto Gause Blvd E. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with Pontchartrain Dr. Turn left onto Pontchartrain Dr and walk for approximately 0.6 miles, crossing the bridge over the bayou. When you reach the intersection with E Howze Beach Rd, turn right and walk for another 0.4 miles. At the next major intersection, take a left onto Robert Blvd and continue for 1 mile until you reach the Slidell Shopping Center. Here, you can catch a local bus or rideshare service to New Orleans.

From your location in Slidell, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take the Jefferson Transit bus (Route 20) from the Slidell area towards New Orleans. Make sure to check the schedule for the latest times. Ride the bus until you reach the Canal St. stop in New Orleans. Once you arrive, walk east on Canal St towards N Rampart St, then turn left on N Rampart St and continue until you reach Governor Nicholls St. Turn right and walk for a few blocks until you arrive at 1210 Governor Nicholls St, where you will find the Saint Augustine Catholic Church.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Slidell. Start your journey by heading south on Front St toward Gause Blvd E. From Gause Blvd E, follow the same route as mentioned previously, crossing the bridge and turning onto Pontchartrain Dr. Continue biking along Robert Blvd until you reach the designated bike paths leading into New Orleans. Follow the bike lanes to Canal St, then head towards N Rampart St. Finally, make a right turn onto Governor Nicholls St to arrive at your destination.
