Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in downtown South Portland, start at the South Portland Public Library located at 482 Broadway. Head north on Broadway for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street. Walk along Main Street for approximately 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Ocean Street. Cross Ocean Street and continue straight on Main Street. After another 0.2 miles, you will reach the intersection with Valley Street. Turn right onto Valley Street and walk for about 0.2 miles. Western Promenade will be on your left side.

  • Public Transportation

    From South Portland, you can take the Greater Portland METRO Bus. Board the Bus Route 1 at any of the bus stops on Main Street heading towards Portland. Ride the bus for about 15-20 minutes, then get off at the stop at Valley Street. From the bus stop, walk a short distance (about 0.1 miles) south on Valley Street, and you will arrive at Western Promenade on your right.

    If you are near the South Portland Waterfront at Bug Light Park, start walking north along the waterfront path. Continue along the path until you reach the end of the park, where you will find a road leading to Breakwater. Follow Breakwater until you reach the intersection with Broadway. Cross Broadway and continue onto Main Street. Head northwest on Main Street, then turn right onto Valley Street. Walk for about 0.2 miles, and you will see the entrance to Western Promenade on your left.
