Getting There

Car
From Livingstonia, head south on the M1 road. Continue for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach the junction for the M5 road towards Mangochi and Nsanje. Turn right onto the M5. After about 25 kilometers, turn left onto the road leading to Majete Wildlife Reserve. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the reserve. Be prepared to pay an entrance fee at the gate.

From Livingstonia, take a minibus heading towards Mwanza at the local minibus station. The journey will take about 2-3 hours and cost around 500 MWK. Once you reach Mwanza, transfer to another minibus heading to Maganga. Inform the driver to drop you off at the Majete Wildlife Reserve entrance. The second leg of the trip will take approximately 30 minutes and may cost around 200 MWK. Be sure to check the schedule as minibuses may not run frequently.
