Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of George Town, head towards Jalan Penang. You can start at the famous Komtar building. Walk along Jalan Penang until you reach the intersection with Jalan Air Itam. Turn left onto Jalan Air Itam and continue walking straight. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will see the Penang Hill Lower Station. This is where you will board the funicular train to Penang Hill Middle Station. The walk takes about 30-40 minutes, and you will enjoy the local scenery along the way.

• Public Bus

  From George Town, you can take the Rapid Penang bus number 204 or 201 from the Komtar Bus Terminal. These buses head towards Air Itam. Make sure to ask the driver if they will stop at Jalan Air Itam. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the bus stop closest to the Penang Hill Lower Station. After disembarking, walk towards the funicular train station to board the train to Penang Hill Middle Station.

• Taxi or Grab

  If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi or use the Grab app to book a ride from anywhere in George Town. Simply enter 'Penang Hill Lower Station' as your destination. The ride typically takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Lower Station, you can purchase your tickets to board the funicular train to Penang Hill Middle Station.
