    If you are in downtown Annapolis, start at the City Dock. Head northeast on Main Street towards the intersection with Church Circle. Continue straight onto West Street, which will take you out of the downtown area. After about 1 mile, turn left onto Taylor Avenue. Walk for another 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with State Circle. From there, follow the signs to the Annapolis Transit bus stop, and take Bus Route 70 towards the New Carrollton Metro Station. Get off at the nearest stop for the Metro at the Greenbelt Station. From there, take the Green Line towards Branch Avenue, transferring at Gallery Place to the Red Line towards Glenmont. Finally, get off at the National Gallery of Art stop.

  • Public Transit

    From downtown Annapolis, walk to the nearest Annapolis Transit bus stop located near the Maryland State House. Board the Annapolis Transit Route 99 bus to the New Carrollton Metro Station. Once you arrive, transfer to the Metro system and take the Green Line towards Branch Avenue. At Gallery Place, transfer to the Red Line and continue towards Glenmont. Get off at the National Gallery of Art stop, and follow the signs to the museum entrance.

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in downtown Annapolis. Start at the City Dock and ride north on Main Street, then take a left onto West Street. Continue for about 1 mile until you reach Taylor Avenue. Turn left and ride straight to State Circle. Follow the bike lanes towards the bus station, where you can lock up your bike and catch the Annapolis Transit Route 99 bus to New Carrollton Metro Station, and then transfer to the Metro as described above.
