    If you are starting from the Great Falls area of C&O Canal National Historical Park, get onto the Clara Barton Parkway heading west. Continue on the parkway until you reach the intersection with I-495. Merge onto I-495 South, then take I-270 North toward Frederick. Follow I-270 for about 20 miles, and take the exit for US-340 toward Charles Town/Harpers Ferry. Merge onto US-340 and follow the signs for Harpers Ferry. After about 5 miles, turn left onto Shoreline Drive. Maryland Heights will be on your right at 171 Shoreline Drive.

    To reach Maryland Heights using public transportation from the C&O Canal, first head to the nearest bus station in the park. Take the MARC Train (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) from the nearby Brunswick Station towards Washington, D.C. Get off at the Harpers Ferry Station. From the station, it is about 1.5 miles to Maryland Heights. You can either walk (which will take approximately 30 minutes) or request a local taxi or ride-sharing service to take you directly to 171 Shoreline Drive.
