Continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach the entrance to the park. After entering the park, follow the signs for Route 340 North. Merge onto Route 340 North and continue for approximately 8 miles. Take the exit toward Harpers Ferry and merge onto 340 West. Once in Harpers Ferry, follow the signs for Maryland Heights. Look for Shoreline Drive, and turn left. The Maryland Heights trailhead will be on your right. Parking is available nearby.

    To reach Maryland Heights using public transportation, first, take the MARC Train from Washington, D.C. or Rockville to Harpers Ferry Station. Upon arriving at Harpers Ferry Station, exit the station and walk to the bus stop at the corner of Potomac Street and Washington Street.
