Continue on MD-28 for about 14 miles until you reach Poolesville. Follow signs to the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park, and look for parking areas near Riley's Lock. There is no entrance fee to access the park and the parking area is free.

For public transportation, take the Metro Red Line to the Shady Grove station. From Shady Grove, you can catch the Ride On bus #55 towards Poolesville. It will take you to Poolesville, where you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Riley's Lock, as it's approximately 5 miles away from the bus stop.
