From Gaithersburg, walk to the Gaithersburg Metro Station located at 100 S Frederick Ave. Take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Ride for approximately 20 minutes, and disembark at the Rockville Metro Station. Transfer to the Red Line towards Shady Grove and continue on the train for 11 more stops until you reach the Farragut North Station. Exit the station, and from there, walk approximately 10 minutes south to reach the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle at 1725 Rhode Island Ave NW.

From Gaithersburg, walk to the nearest bus stop at the Gaithersburg Transit Center. Take the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards the Glenmont Metro Station. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the Glenmont Metro Station and transfer to the Red Line train towards Shady Grove. Ride the train for 9 stops until you reach the Farragut North Metro Station. Exit the station and walk approximately 10 minutes to the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle located at 1725 Rhode Island Ave NW.
