Walking
If you are in downtown Gloucester, start at the Cape Ann Museum located at 27 Pleasant St. Head south on Pleasant St toward Duncan St. Continue onto Main St and follow it until you reach the intersection with Washington St. Turn left onto Washington St and continue straight until it becomes East Main St. Follow East Main St, which will lead you to the harbor area. Once you reach the harbor, look for signs directing you to the Gloucester Ferry Terminal. The total walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.

Public Transit (Bus)
From downtown Gloucester, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the corner of Main St and Washington St. Take the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus number 11 towards Rockport and get off at the stop at the Gloucester Ferry Terminal. The bus ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the terminal, look for signs indicating the way to Commonwealth Pier.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in downtown Gloucester. Start at the Gloucester Fishermen's Memorial located at 75 E Main St. Head east on E Main St and then take a left onto Harbor Loop. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the Gloucester Ferry Terminal. The ride will be scenic and take around 15-20 minutes.
