Car
If you are driving from Northampton, take I-91 South. Continue on I-91 for about 18 miles. Take exit 6 for I-291 E toward Springfield. Follow I-291 E for about 3 miles and take exit 1A for Main St. Merge onto Main St and then turn right onto Armory St. The Springfield Armory National Historic Site will be on your left at 1 Armory St #2, Springfield, MA 01105. Parking is available on-site.

If you are using public transportation, take the PVTA bus from various locations in Hampshire County to Springfield. The bus route 36 connects Northampton and Springfield. Once you arrive at the Springfield bus terminal, walk to the nearby bus stop for the 34 or 35 bus routes, which will take you to Main St & Armory St. From there, it’s a short walk to the Springfield Armory National Historic Site located at 1 Armory St #2. Make sure to check the PVTA schedule for current times and costs, which typically range from $1.50 to $2.00 per ride.
