Kings Chapel Burying Ground: Boston's Historic Serenity

Getting There

• Bus

  From Waltham, head to the Waltham MBTA bus stop at Main Street and Moody Street. Take the 70 Bus towards Alewife Station. Ride for about 25 minutes and get off at the Alewife Station. From there, transfer to the Red Line towards Ashmont. After about 30 minutes, get off at Park Street Station. Exit the station and walk about 5 minutes towards Tremont Street. The Kings Chapel Burying Ground will be on your left at 40 Tremont St.

• Train

  Begin your journey at the Waltham MBTA Train Station. Take the Fitchburg Line towards North Station. After approximately 18 minutes, you will arrive at North Station. Transfer to the Green Line at Government Center and take the Green Line towards Copley. Get off at the Copley Station and walk about 15 minutes east on Boylston Street until you reach Tremont Street. Turn left, and you will find Kings Chapel Burying Ground at 40 Tremont St.

• Walking

  If you're in central Waltham, you can walk to the Kings Chapel Burying Ground. Head east on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Waverley Oaks Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Trapelo Road. Turn right and follow Trapelo Road until you reach the Alewife bus stop. From there, take the bus to Alewife Station mentioned earlier, or you can continue walking towards the Alewife area, but it will take approximately 1.5 hours.

• Bicycle

  If you're comfortable biking, rent a bike from one of the local bike share programs. Start at Waltham Common and ride along the Charles River Greenway, heading towards Alewife. Follow the bike paths and streets towards Alewife, then take the MBTA bus from there to get closer to downtown Boston. Once you reach Park Street Station, it's about a 5 to 10-minute bike ride to Kings Chapel Burying Ground at 40 Tremont St.
