Walking
Starting from the Zócalo in Oaxaca, head east on Calle de Manuel García Vigil. Continue walking for approximately 10 blocks until you reach the intersection with Avenida Juárez. Turn left onto Avenida Juárez and walk north for about 5 blocks. You will pass by several local shops and cafes. Once you reach the intersection with Calle de 5 de Febrero, turn right and continue walking up this street, which will lead you towards the foot of Cerro del Fortín. As you approach the base of the hill, you may notice a sign indicating the entrance to the trails leading up the mountain.

Public Transport
From the Zócalo, take a minibus (colectivo) heading towards 'Fortín' or 'Cerro del Fortín'. The minibuses are located at designated stops around the Zócalo. The fare is typically around 10 pesos, and the ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to Cerro del Fortín. Once you arrive at the drop-off point near the entrance of the hiking trails, follow the signs leading up the mountain. The trails are well-marked and lead you directly to the summit.

Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops around the Zócalo. Once you have your bike, head east on Calle de Manuel García Vigil, then turn left onto Avenida Juárez. Continue north for about 5 blocks and turn right onto Calle de 5 de Febrero. You can cycle up to the base of Cerro del Fortín where the paved road ends. From there, you will need to park your bike and follow the marked hiking trail to reach the summit.
