If you are driving, head south on Highway 307 from Playa del Carmen toward Tulum. After approximately 25 kilometers, look for the sign for Akumal. Turn right onto Akumal Avenue and follow it until you reach the parking area. The Akumal Parking lot is located at approximately 20.397374 latitude and -87.315614 longitude. There may be parking fees, so be prepared with cash in pesos. The parking lot usually opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 8:00 PM.

Public Transportation (Collectivo)
To reach Akumal by public transportation, take a collectivo (shared van) from Playa del Carmen or Tulum. From Playa del Carmen, locate the collectivo stop at the corner of 2nd Avenue and 12th Street. Board a collectivo bound for Tulum, and ask the driver to drop you off at Akumal. The fare is usually around 40 pesos. Once you arrive at Akumal, you may need to walk a short distance to the parking area if you are not directly dropped off.
