Depending on your starting point, you will need to drive approximately 30-60 minutes. Look for the signs for Akumal, which is located at Km 104. Once you arrive at the 7-Eleven convenience store on the right side of the highway, you will see signs directing you to the beach area where you can swim with turtles. Free parking is usually available nearby, but it can fill up quickly on weekends and holidays.

Public Transportation (Collectivo)
For those using public transportation, you can catch a 'collectivo' (shared van) from various locations along the Riviera Maya, including Playa del Carmen or Tulum. The collectivos run frequently and cost around 40-60 MXN (about $2-3 USD) per person. Ask the driver to drop you off at Akumal. Once you arrive, walk towards the beach area where you will see signs for swimming with turtles. Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee (approximately 100 MXN or $5 USD) for access to the beach.
